John Apthorp
It is with sadness that we announce the death of our President, John Apthorp CBE on 9th July 2024.
He was a major benefactor of our charity, and indeed of many other organisations in the Parish, providing both advice and practical support.
That support continued until the end of his life and, without it, we could not be where we are today.
His philanthropy will be remembered with gratitude by all of those involved in the Museum, some of whom also counted him as a personal friend.
